Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in New York (NY OT License required)
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of elementary-age developmental needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches for diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and provide evidence-based OT services to elementary school students, focusing on motor skills, sensory integration, and functional independence
- Develop, implement, and track progress on individualized treatment goals in collaboration with staff and families
- Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions in the school setting
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to documentation, and maintain compliance with NYS regulations
- Educate and support staff in integrating therapeutic strategies into classroom routines
