Key qualifications and background:
- Active licensure and credentialing as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in a school or healthcare setting
- Experience in school-based OT, home health OT, or other pediatric OT roles
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic strategies for elementary-aged students
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support teams
- Competence in documentation and progress monitoring
- Passion for encouraging student independence and learning through tailored interventions
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct OT services to students, focused on improving their fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
- Conducting assessments and participating in the development of IEPs and service plans
- Consulting with teachers and other support staff on strategies to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines
- Keeping detailed records of student progress, therapy goals, and outcomes
- Attending after-hours meetings as needed to coordinate care and communicate with families and staff
Work hours typically fall between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm, with occasional after-hours meetings supporting collaboration and student success.
