An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide part-time support in a school-based setting located near Sunnyvale, CA. This contract position is vital in supporting students’ developmental needs and enhancing their success within educational environments. Position start is immediate and will run through mid-June; specific hours and school site will be confirmed during placement.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license, or eligibility for licensure in California, as required by the California Occupational Therapy Practice Act
- Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in pediatric occupational therapy, emphasizing developmental disabilities and intervention in school settings
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with educators, multidisciplinary teams, and families to create supportive, individualized interventions
- Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills
- Adaptability and commitment to onsite work; fully in-person role (no virtual or hybrid options)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions to students as part of the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process
- Develop, document, and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with school staff and families
- Assist in identifying and addressing barriers to students’ participation in school activities
- Provide consultation, education, and support to teachers and caregivers regarding strategies that foster student independence and engagement
- Maintain thorough, timely progress notes and reports in accordance with school and professional standards
