Key Qualifications:
- Active New Mexico OT licensure (NMRLD) is required.
- Current New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) certification by start date (process is efficient if initiated early).
- Willingness to travel between schools within the area.
- Ability to supervise and mentor COTAs effectively.
- Experience in school-based OT services preferred; open to COTAs under appropriate supervision.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy evaluations and interventions for a full-age spectrum of school-aged students.
- Supervise and guide COTAs as required by state law and best practices.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Travel between assigned school sites to provide onsite services.
- Maintain timely and compliant documentation.
This contract runs from the start date as soon as possible through May 20, 2027, providing long-term stability and the chance to build lasting relationships within a supportive district.
