School Occupational Therapist | Verdi, Nevada
Step into a meaningful role supporting students' growth and development as a School-Based Occupational Therapist in the Reno, NV area. This contract opportunity will have you collaborating closely with a dedicated school community, providing direct OT services and evaluations to students in grades K-12. Assignments will span 3-4 school sites, allowing you to build a diverse skill set and develop lasting professional relationships.
Your day-to-day will include managing a caseload of approximately 50-55 students, offering a balanced mix of therapeutic intervention, assessments, and collaboration with educators and families. This position is full-time, with consistent weekly hours, and will require on-site presence throughout the school year.
Qualifications:
- Current Nevada Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Experience working in school-based settings, particularly with children K-12, is highly desired
- Ability to manage and adapt to a moderate caseload across multiple campuses
- Strong communication and organizational skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Fingerprints clearance and drug screening required due to time-sensitive credentialing needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy to support students’ participation and success in their educational environment
- Conduct evaluations and comprehensive assessments for incoming and existing students
- Document therapy sessions, progress, and assessment results in compliance with school and state policies
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized intervention plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
