Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapy license
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Familiarity with serving both general education and special needs students, particularly those in SIP programs
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to all district and state regulations for school-based therapy
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with teachers, support staff, and families
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services onsite across general education and SIP program students
- Assess students’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to integrate OT strategies into classrooms
- Support and monitor students’ progress, maintaining clear and timely documentation compliant with school and state guidelines
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contribute to IEP development, and advocate for students’ needs
- Provide resources, support, and education to teachers and families
- Adhere to ethical practices and maintain student confidentiality at all times
