In this specialized role, you will provide crucial assessments for a single new student and, if the evaluation determines eligibility, deliver tailored occupational therapy services to foster their success.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive, standardized occupational therapy assessments for a student referred for services
- Observe, gather data, and collaborate with teachers and school staff to inform your evaluation process
- Interpret assessment results and clearly communicate findings to families and educational teams
- If the student qualifies for services, design and implement individualized therapy sessions focusing on skill development, adaptive strategies, and functional goals
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school-based and state requirements
- Provide insight and recommendations for classroom accommodations or modifications as appropriate
- Travel to the student’s location in Youngstown for all in-person responsibilities
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure for practice in Ohio
- Recent experience working as an OT in school settings is highly desired
- Demonstrated skill in assessment and report writing for school-aged children
- Strong interpersonal abilities, with comfort collaborating across educational teams
- Flexibility to travel for a single student’s in-person assessments and therapy as needed
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, student-centered approach
