Your knowledge of school-based occupational therapy practices and experience with pediatric populations will help shape students’ abilities, independence, and confidence in the classroom. This opportunity welcomes candidates who are open to travel.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Washington state license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and families
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
- Passion for making a positive impact in student development
Core Duties:
- Support the Occupational Therapist in planning and delivering therapy services for K–12 students
- Assist with assessments, treatment activities, and progress tracking
- Modify classroom materials and adapt environments to maximize student participation
- Document therapy sessions and student progress in compliance with school and state requirements
- Provide input and strategies for individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals
