Step into a meaningful role supporting student success as a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) for the entire academic year. This engaging contract opportunity is conveniently based in Valparaiso, IN, with coverage needed in both Portage and at SELF School. Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active COTA or OT licensure required for Indiana
- Prior experience in a school-based therapy setting is highly preferred
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and fellow specialists in developing and implementing therapy plans
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for supporting students to reach their fullest potential
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services within a diverse student population, adapting interventions to meet individual goals
- Conduct evaluations and maintain clear, timely records in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Consult with teachers, staff, and parents to maximize students’ participation and engagement
- Contribute to IEP meetings with recommendations and progress reporting
- Travel between assigned sites as needed within the workday
- Organize a caseload tailored to the school community’s needs (details to be determined)
This position begins August 11, 2026, and wraps up June 11, 2027, for a full academic year’s experience. The opportunity offers a consistent commitment—14 hours each week, scheduled over your choice of two days Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with a half-hour lunch.
