Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Fairfield, CA
An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support elementary school students on a contract basis starting this August and continuing through June. This full-time position offers a stable schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, working in elementary campuses around the East Bay area. The position focuses on delivering essential services that help students thrive in their learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active COTA license in California
- Previous experience in school settings preferred, particularly with elementary-aged students
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Adaptable and comfortable working on different East Bay campuses as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, following students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ functional skills in the classroom
- Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and session activities
- Adjust activities and strategies as needed to meet diverse student needs
- Attend relevant meetings and participate as a valued member of the school-based therapy team
