Step into a dynamic role supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the upcoming school years! Starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 28, 2027, this full-time position provides a consistent schedule of 40 hours per week. Required Background & Experience:
- Active licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Indiana
- Previous school-based experience as a COTA is ideal, but applicants with strong pediatric or educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Ability to adapt therapeutic activities and communication style to various age groups from early childhood to adolescence
- Familiarity with IEPs, progress documentation, and collaboration with special education teams
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Willingness to be flexible and responsive to changing student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist
- Deliver services individually and in group settings to help students access the curriculum and develop meaningful life skills
- Assist in developing and implementing therapeutic activities and adapt instructional materials as needed
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and contribute to student evaluations as part of the IEP process
- Support a positive and inclusive educational environment
