Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – School-Based
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a school district in Washington for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, 37.5-hour/week opportunity working with students K–12 across multiple school buildings. The COTA will work under the supervision of an OTR and collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative OT services under OTR supervision.
- Support students with fine/gross motor skills, sensory strategies, range of motion, and functional activities aligned with IEP goals.
- Provide individual and small-group sessions and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraeducators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Document services and complete required Medicaid documentation when applicable.
- Travel between school buildings as needed.
- Participate in professional development and OT/PT team meetings.
Qualifications
- Current COTA certification/licensure in Washington.
- School-based or special education experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Comfortable working across multiple school locations.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to bring humor and fun into the school environment.
