School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Hyattsville, Maryland
Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant on a school-based contract for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time, onsite position offers the chance to provide key therapy services and collaborate within a dedicated special education team in a vibrant and supportive educational setting near Hyattsville, MD.
In this role, you’ll work directly with students across a diverse K-12 caseload, helping develop and implement activities that encourage independence and participation within their school environment. The position begins with a year-long contract, with the possibility of renewal for the following school year based on performance and district needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy is required
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Maryland
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Exceptional communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and adaptability
- Understanding of general COTA school-based responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support the individual needs and goals of students with varying physical, sensory, or developmental challenges
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to integrate therapy into classroom activities
- Accurately document interventions and student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings as necessary and provide input on student goals and progress
