Seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support multiple school sites near Kansas City, MO. In this contract role, you’ll provide essential therapy services to students across several educational settings, helping them reach key developmental and academic milestones. This is a full-time position, covering FMLA from August 24th to September 25th, with the possibility of extension based on need.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Missouri
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, other therapists, and families
- Flexible and adaptable to support needs at multiple grade levels and locations
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy support to students, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist in assessing student needs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Collect and document data on student progress
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student development and inclusion in the classroom
- Travel between assigned elementary, middle, and high school sites as scheduled
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to district protocols and timelines
