Step into a dynamic school-based environment supporting students across multiple sites as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This position offers a contract opportunity to make an immediate impact while covering a family medical leave, from late August through late September, with the possibility of extension. Enjoy the chance to work with diverse age groups as you move between elementary, middle, and high school campuses.
Your expertise as a COTA will be utilized across several schools, guiding students’ development and helping them achieve their functional goals. You’ll interact closely with educators and school-based therapy teams, taking on variety and new challenges each day in a full-time schedule, generally between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Qualifications:
- Valid COTA licensure in Missouri
- Experience in school-based or pediatric OT settings preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and varying caseloads
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, and families
- Reliable, flexible, and organized approach to covering multiple school sites
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs under the supervision of an OTR/L
- Collaborate with teachers and support personnel to modify classroom activities and environments
- Maintain detailed session notes and required documentation
- Travel between assigned school sites and adapt services for diverse populations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategy discussions for student support
