Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Lakewood, NM

Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico COTA License required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred but not mandatory
- Preferred: New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) License
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches for varied student needs across K-12
- Commitment to supporting students’ functional and educational performance
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work closely with occupational therapists, special education staff, teachers, and families to support each student’s progress
- Document therapy sessions, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Implement goals and interventions set by a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Help students develop fine motor, sensory-motor, self-help, and adaptive skills essential for school success
- Assist with screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring as needed
