Desired Qualifications:
- Current COTA certification and license to practice in New Mexico (or eligibility for NM licensure)
- Previous experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation requirements
- Ability to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school staff
- Excellent communication, time-management, and organization skills
- Flexible, compassionate, and dedicated to student-centered care
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students in accordance with each IEP or 504 plan
- Support individual and group OT interventions to improve functional skills for classroom success
- Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and assist with assessments
- Work closely with supervising occupational therapist to implement treatment plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and progress
- Educate teachers and staff on strategies that foster student participation and success in daily school activities
- Contribute positively to the interdisciplinary school team
