This contract opportunity begins August 11, 2026, and runs through the full 2026–2027 academic year. Based near Michigan City, IN, you'll provide outstanding occupational therapy services across Portage and a specialized campus in Valparaiso.
You'll enjoy a balanced schedule with two flexible workdays each week (Monday–Friday) from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling 14 hours weekly. The schedule provides a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The caseload will be determined prior to your start, ensuring you can focus on delivering personalized assistance and skill development for students in need.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Previous school-based therapy experience preferred
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Passion for helping children achieve their fullest potential
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services tailored to each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Assess student needs, document progress, and update records to support educational goals
- Engage in team meetings and contribute to IEP development and reviews
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Provide engaging interventions and strategies for fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
