As an itinerant professional, you’ll provide essential occupational therapy services under the guidance and supervision of experienced District Occupational Therapists. Each day brings variety as you travel between up to five K-8 campuses, collaborating with educators, counselors, and special education teams.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential, with all required California licensure and clearances
- Previous experience in a school setting, particularly with K-8 populations, preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, families, and staff
- Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and adjust to different environments
- Commitment to evidence-based practices and a collaborative, student-centered approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Maintain detailed progress records and provide input for ongoing therapy plans and IEP meetings
- Collaborate with supervising OTs to adapt and implement activities that support students’ educational success
- Support teachers and school teams in integrating therapeutic strategies into classrooms
- Travel between assigned sites to ensure consistent and timely service delivery
