In this position, you'll collaborate onsite with a dynamic team and contribute essential services to four low-incidence classrooms, including students with life skills needs and autism. The caseload consists of approximately 36-40 students, ensuring you can build strong connections while making an impact across multiple grade levels.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Occupational Therapy license (state-specific requirements apply)
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Comfort working with low-incidence student populations, such as those with life skills needs or autism
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills to manage service logs and IEP documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as identified in their IEPs
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans focused on functional skills and goals
- Collaborate with special education teachers, aides, and related service providers in classroom environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
- Offer support and resources to families and school staff regarding occupational therapy interventions
