Seeking an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide dedicated support within a school setting. This contract position focuses on working one-on-one with students to foster their development, encourage independence, and remove barriers to their educational success. The role will require collaboration with educators, families, and other professionals to create and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred
- Strong background in 1:1 student therapy and individualized intervention
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality
- Ability to adapt and problem-solve in a dynamic academic environment
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and establish therapy goals
- Develop and implement tailored, student-centered OT interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support IEP development and implementation
- Track progress, document sessions, and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
- Guide families and school staff on strategies to promote student independence and participation
- Participate in IEP meetings and conferences as needed
- Provide direct, 1:1 therapy to support students’ success within academic and functional routines
