Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with IEP processes and relevant documentation standards
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs
In this role, you will:
- Conduct screenings and evaluations for students as referred
- Design and implement evidence-based therapy plans
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide consultative support to classroom staff, promoting strategies for student success
- Maintain timely and accurate records in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Educate families and caregivers on effective strategies to use at home
