Occupational Therapist School Setting - Lovington, NM
Make a difference supporting K–12 students by providing vital occupational therapy services in a dynamic school environment near Lovington, NM! This contract opportunity runs from August 2024 through May 2025, requiring a dedicated professional for 37 hours a week throughout the academic year.
In this role, you’ll use your expertise to conduct assessments and deliver interventions for students with physical, cognitive, and sensory challenges affecting their ability to thrive at school. Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and allied professionals to design and implement individualized treatment plans. Regular responsibilities include providing direct therapy, evaluating student progress, and offering guidance and training to school staff—empowering them to support students’ unique needs in the classroom setting.
Your key qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active Occupational Therapist license
- Current state licensure/certification
- Prior experience in schools or similar pediatric settings
Essential responsibilities:
- Assess and treat students with diverse disabilities impacting educational access and participation
- Develop and document individualized treatment plans in collaboration with IEP teams
- Deliver therapy sessions targeting fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills
- Complete evaluations and written reports with progress updates
- Serve as a resource for teachers and staff by providing training and recommendations
