This contract position offers the opportunity to work two days a week with a supportive team, focusing on helping children develop the crucial skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. The school is located approximately 45 miles west of downtown Chicago, offering a convenient commute and a vibrant community atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of Illinois
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting or with elementary-aged students is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and support staff
- Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations related to special education and therapy services
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities to determine therapy needs within the educational environment
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized goals and intervention plans
- Deliver direct OT services to elementary students in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure cohesive support for each child
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and legal standards
