Occupational Therapist School Setting in Olathe, KS

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the Kansas City, Kansas area, supporting students across multiple educational environments. In this position, you’ll work with a diverse caseload of approximately 50-60 students, creating individualized therapy plans to help each student reach their fullest potential. This role offers the unique benefit of self-directed scheduling, with the flexibility to determine which schools you visit each day—typically 1-3 school site visits.
Your impact will be felt at Camber, Bridges Academy, New Chelsea Elementary, Emerson Elementary, and Welborn Elementary, working collaboratively with educational teams to facilitate student success. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through May 2027, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Kansas is required
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric OT setting strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage your own flexible schedule
- Proficiency in assessment, treatment planning, and progress documentation for pediatric populations
- Effective communicator, capable of collaboration with teachers, families, and other school professionals
- Adaptability and a positive, student-centered approach
Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic interventions to students on a diverse caseload across multiple school settings
- Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Consult with educational staff and parents to maximize student support and progress
- Travel to designated school sites as per your own organized schedule
