Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
- Previous school-based OT experience, preferably with elementary students
- Strong understanding of pediatric developmental and sensory needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent communication, record-keeping, and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary students, focusing on individualized education plans (IEPs) and specific student goals
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to develop strategies that enhance student participation in classroom activities
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to inform OT interventions and progress monitoring
- Document therapy sessions, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Advocate for students’ needs and foster a supportive, inclusive environment
