School Occupational Therapist | Shelby, Ohio

This contract/PRN position offers the chance to create a meaningful impact by working directly with two students enrolled in a specialized scholarship program. Based near Shelby, OH, the role involves approximately two hours each month, ideal for an occupational therapist seeking supplemental, focused service hours.
In this setting, you will deliver direct, IEP-mandated therapy in a school-based model. Direct service for a 10th-grade student spans 60 minutes monthly, while a kindergarten student will receive an estimated 60 minutes monthly as well. Collaboration with school staff and thorough documentation remain key components of this role.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Ohio
- Experience in a pediatric or school-based setting preferred
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort navigating varying service delivery models (on-site preferred; possible remote contingencies)
- Detail-oriented approach to progress tracking and therapy note documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy sessions as outlined in student IEPs
- Accurately document therapy sessions, maintain progress reports, and adhere to school protocols
- Coordinate with educators, staff, and families to best support student goals
- Adapt services as needed to meet scholarship and program guidelines
This position is well-suited for therapists eager to support students’ functional independence in an educational setting, while maintaining flexibility in their schedule. Previous support from a COTA has been beneficial, and you will have administrative collaboration as needed.
