Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students' communication and therapeutic needs in schools near Ventura, CA. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC) or Occupational Therapist passionate about making a difference in K-12 education.
Enjoy working across 2-3 school sites with a manageable caseload of approximately 65 students. The role entails delivering both direct and indirect SLP services, ensuring comprehensive support within a caseload-driven model. You'll collaborate with dedicated educators, utilize district-provided IEP software (with training), and have dedicated therapy spaces to create a nurturing environment for students.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC required) or Occupational Therapist
- Previous school-based or pediatric clinical experience preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to travel between assigned schools (itinerant role)
- Collaborative spirit and dedication to student-centered practices
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based speech, language, and/or occupational therapy services to K-12 students in a school setting
- Complete assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and track student progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and families
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation within the IEP system
- Attend and participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of each student
- Offer support and supervision when appropriate to facilitate professional growth within the team
