Desired Qualities and Experience:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapy certification (IL OT Creds)
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Passion for working with adolescents and assisting them in meeting functional goals within the school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ abilities and challenges
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings and support overall student success
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to create strategies for progress
- Maintain accurate records on student performance and progress
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
This position offers a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:00pm, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while making a valuable difference in the school community.
