Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School-Based Occupational Therapist, supporting K–12 students in a vibrant Virginia school district. In this impactful role, you’ll work alongside educators, families, and other professionals to help students achieve greater independence and academic success through targeted occupational therapy support.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver both direct and consultative OT services to students in alignment with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and recommend services
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans, addressing fine motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, special education team members, and parents to support student goals
- Participate as an active member of IEP meetings and contribute thoughtfully to goal setting and progress tracking
- Ensure thorough documentation and maintain compliance with all state and district requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active Virginia OT license, or eligibility to obtain prior to start
- NBCOT certification required
- School-based occupational therapy experience is a plus, but strong new grads are encouraged to apply
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities
Schedule and Setting:
- 37.5 hours per week, following the local school calendar with school holidays and breaks observed
