Gross Motor Skills Fine Motor Skills Occupational Therapist in Castle Rock, CO
A rewarding opportunity awaits an Occupational Therapist with experience in both healthcare and educational settings. This contract position provides a dynamic full-time role spanning from ASAP through the end of the academic year, working with K-12 students to foster growth and development in a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services to a diverse K-12 student population
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy interventions for students with a variety of needs
- Focus on the development and enhancement of fine and gross motor skills
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure integrated student support
- Document therapy services, progress, and outcomes according to school and regulatory guidelines
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as needed
- Participate in student IEP meetings, contributing expertise to individualized education plans
Schedule:
- Full-time hours, Monday through Friday
- Contract runs ASAP through the end of the school year
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license; Colorado licensure preferred or eligibility to obtain
- Experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting as well as in schools
- Skilled in both fine and gross motor skills therapies
- Previous work with K-12 student populations highly desirable
- Familiarity with COTA collaboration and school-based documentation
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
