Gross Motor Skills Fine Motor Skills Occupational Therapist in Colorado Springs, CO
Seeking a skilled occupational therapist with a passion for working with K-12 students to support a school-based assignment. This full-time, contract opportunity will run from ASAP through the end of the school year. The ideal candidate will contribute their expertise in therapeutic practices to help foster positive developments in motor skills and independence for students within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services for K-12 students in alignment with individualized education plans
- Assess, develop, and implement strategies to support and improve fine and gross motor skills
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, COTAs, and school teams to maximize student outcomes
- Integrate therapeutic interventions to facilitate student participation in academic and everyday activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress, treatment plans, and communication with families
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review student progress and adjust interventions as needed
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure
- Experience in a school or pediatric therapy setting preferred
- Strong understanding of both fine and gross motor development
- Ability to work effectively with COTA team members
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for supporting students across a variety of developmental stages
