Gross Motor Skills Fine Motor Skills Occupational Therapist | Fountain, Colorado
Seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Occupational Therapist to play a vital role supporting K-12 students in a school-based setting. This full-time contract opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the academic year, offering a chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students by fostering both fine and gross motor skill development in collaboration with educators and support staff.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time schedule
- Contract runs ASAP through the end of year
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapy license
- Experience in both hospital and school-based OT settings is highly valued
- Familiarity working with grades K-12
- Expertise in promoting fine and gross motor skill development
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement effective treatment for diverse student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, parents, and other therapists
- COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) supervisory experience a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students’ functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to support academic success and classroom participation
- Collaborate with teachers and school teams to integrate therapy goals into daily activities
- Document student progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure goal achievement
- Educate staff and families on strategies to generalize skills in multiple settings
- Consult with medical professionals or community resources as necessary
