Fine Motor Skills Gross Motor Skills Occupational Therapist in Fountain, CO
A fantastic opportunity is available for a motivated occupational therapist to support K-12 students in a school-based setting. This full-time contract runs from ASAP through the end of the year, providing the chance to make a real difference in students’ educational and developmental journeys.
Key responsibilities include evaluating and implementing therapy plans that address fine and gross motor skills, collaborating with educators, providing direct services to students, and supporting classrooms in achieving students' individual goals. The successful candidate will work closely with certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA) and teachers to ensure students’ needs are met efficiently and creatively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current OT license and credentials required
- Previous experience in a K-12 or pediatric/school environment preferred
- Strong background in fine and gross motor skills therapy
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Experience or familiarity with collaborating with COTAs
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic school environment
Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ occupational therapy needs within the school setting
- Design and implement interventions to support functional outcomes and motor skills development
- Consult with school staff and families to promote student success
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports aligned with school requirements
- Work collaboratively with educators, aides, and COTAs for integrated student care
