Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued
- Ability to assist with implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) alongside occupational therapists
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and family/team collaboration
- Familiarity with K-12 developmental stages and related challenges
- Adaptable, reliable, and eager to foster student growth and engagement
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct treatment, guided by OT plans, to help students achieve IEP goals
- Support skill development in areas such as fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and self-care tasks
- Document progress, keeping clear and timely records per school and compliance standards
- Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school staff
- Offer feedback and strategies to families and educators for generalizing skills beyond the classroom
