School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Aurora, Illinois
Step into a dynamic school-based setting as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, supporting students across multiple sites in a vibrant educational community near Aurora, IL. This contract opportunity begins on August 27, 2026, and continues through June 9, 2027, offering the chance to work full-time (35–37.5 hours per week) as an itinerant team member serving elementary, middle, and high school students. Each day brings variety, as you'll adapt your schedule to different school hours and serve an array of age groups from Pre-K through transition (up to age 22), tailoring therapeutic support to unique student needs.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Valid educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous experience in a school-based occupational therapy setting preferred
- Ability to complete required credentialing, including fingerprinting, before start date
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions and supports to students across assigned schools
- Collaborate with teachers, OTs, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individual student plans
- Document progress and student outcomes according to district and state requirements
- Travel between multiple campuses as assigned within the district
- Adapt to a variety of educational environments and student needs, ensuring continuity of care
