School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Fair Haven, Vermont
Embark on a fulfilling opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students from preK to 12th grade. This contract role, starting August 21, 2025, and extending through June 14, 2026, offers the chance to collaborate with educators and therapists across eight school sites. Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a COTA and state licensure (or eligibility)
- Experience or enthusiasm for working with school-aged children, preK to 12+
- Strong communication and documentation skills to support student progress
- Ability to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, teachers, and families
- Adaptability across varied educational settings and student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined in student IEPs, under OT supervision
- Assist with assessments, documentation, and reports while tracking student progress
- Promote student participation in school routines, self-care, and classroom activities
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to embed therapeutic strategies into the school day
- Travel between up to eight school sites, ensuring consistent support across the caseload
- Maintain compliance with school and special education policies
