School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Irvine, California

As a COTA in a school environment, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other professionals to implement individualized education plans and help students access their education with greater independence. You’ll enjoy a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week with the contract running from your start date through May 28, 2027—providing you stability and plenty of time to build strong connections with students and staff.
Qualifications:
- Active California COTA license required
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting highly preferred
- Ability to adapt to multiple school locations as an itinerant provider
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting children’s functional and educational needs
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans for students in K-12
- Travel between assigned school sites as part of an itinerant service model
- Work one-on-one or in small groups to develop student skills in fine motor control, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation
- Document progress and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Communicate regularly with supervising occupational therapists and educational teams
