Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active COTA certification and license in Minnesota
- Recent experience working as a COTA in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
- Strong understanding of school-based OT practices and IEP processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Skilled at adapting interventions to meet each student’s needs
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR/L as indicated in students’ IEPs
- Assist with evaluations, screenings, and data collection to support students’ functional performance in the classroom
- Adapt classroom materials and activities to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with special education teams, offering input and supporting OT goals in the educational environment
- Maintain detailed records of students’ progress and communicate updates to supervising therapists and staff
- Help foster students’ independence, motor development, and participation in daily school routines
