Job Description
A school district in Marblehead, Massachusetts is seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full‑time, school‑based contract. This position serves K–12 students and supports the delivery of occupational therapy services designed to improve fine motor, sensory, functional, and self‑care skills. Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Implement treatment plans and therapeutic interventions established by the supervising OT
- Support students in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory, self‑care, and functional skills
- Assist with classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic activities
- Collect data and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute information regarding student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required
- NBCOT COTA certification required
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
Education
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Experience
- Previous school‑based, pediatric, or clinical experience preferred
- Experience supporting students with developmental, sensory, physical, or behavioral disabilities preferred
- New graduates with appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply

- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy interventions and techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Ability to follow treatment plans and adapt strategies as needed

Work Hours
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Approximately 37–40 hours per week
