Preferred Background:
- Current COTA certification and licensure in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain before start)
- Prior experience delivering occupational therapy services in a school setting, especially supporting elementary and middle school students
- Strong understanding of IEPs, documentation, and therapy goal tracking
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, speech and physical therapists, and families
- Adaptable, organized, and passionate about helping students achieve their functional goals in an educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to K-8th grade students as guided by the supervising OTR
- Implement individualized intervention plans and therapeutic activities targeting fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills
- Monitor and report student progress, adjusting activities as needed to meet educational goals
- Assist with IEP meetings, providing valuable input on student strengths and needs
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes for all students
