Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active COTA certification required
- Experience in a school-based setting or a strong interest in pediatric occupational therapy
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to implement and follow individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Skilled in using a wide range of therapy techniques and adaptive tools appropriate for school-aged children
- Proactive, self-motivated attitude with strong organizational skills
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Provide support for students’ classroom participation, fine motor skills, and activities of daily living
- Assist in evaluating students’ progress and maintaining thorough, accurate documentation
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and collaborate on therapy goals
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Adapt interventions and materials to meet each student’s needs and promote independence
