Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Rosenberg, TX
Step into a dynamic, full-time role as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students across multiple campuses in the southwest Houston area. This position begins August 11, 2026, and runs through May 26, 2027. You'll be working exclusively on-site, primarily serving a dedicated zone with 6 to 7 schools, with assignments made mindful of your ZIP code for an efficient commute.
Your primary focus will be students ages 3 to 21, collaborating closely with an OT to deliver both direct and consultative services. While the overall caseload targets around 70 students, you'll provide direct interventions to approximately 30–40 students, following an organized rotating schedule. Most students are not seen weekly, giving you the opportunity to focus on quality care and comprehensive support through scheduled cycles.
Key qualifications and requirements:
- Active Texas COTA licensure
- Demonstrated experience in school settings or heavy pediatric caseloads
- Background screening and fingerprint clearance (current prints may already suffice)
- Experience navigating school health documentation software (SHARES, Onward) and maintaining organized IEP records
- Ability to communicate clearly and participate in ARDs and team meetings
- District will not consider any former employees
Major responsibilities:
- Coordinate and provide occupational therapy services as directed by supervising OT
- Conduct evaluations, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain accurate records
- Deliver services via consult and direct intervention for a diverse student population
- Travel within your assigned zone to offer consistent support
- Utilize SHARES and Onward software for electronic documentation
