Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Tracy, CA
Step into a dynamic educational environment where your expertise can make a difference for students from preschool through 8th grade. This contract opportunity is available district-wide, allowing you to collaborate across five schools and positively impact approximately 65 students alongside another Occupational Therapist (OT).
Your role will span the full academic year, beginning July 30, 2026, and ending May 28, 2027, with the possibility of extension for Extended School Year (ESY) services if needed. You’ll work closely under the supervision of an OT from another agency, ensuring you have professional guidance while maintaining autonomy in your daily practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Valid state licensure for Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Previous experience working in school-based settings (preferred)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working across multiple campuses
- Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services as outlined in students’ IEPs in coordination with supervising OT
- Support students’ development of fine motor, sensory, and functional skills within classroom routines
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and legal guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and team consultations as needed
- Travel district-wide to provide services at all assigned schools
