Occupational Therapist School Setting in Ellicott City, MD
An exciting opportunity awaits for experienced Occupational Therapists who are passionate about making an impact in the academic and daily lives of children. Four contract positions are available, serving elementary students (ages 3 through 5th grade) across several schools for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role begins August 10, 2026, and concludes June 8, 2027, with a commitment of 35 hours each week.
Therapists will support a diverse caseload, including students with high-level autism, varied academic and communication needs, and behavioral challenges—backed by robust district supports and a well-established mentor program. The therapist has the flexibility to structure their own schedule, coordinating with school administrators to best meet student needs (with 21 hours weekly dedicated to direct services).
Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Maryland (required)
- Pediatric or school-based OT experience preferred
- Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with academic life skills, autism interventions, and supporting students with communication and behavior needs
- Strong interpersonal, documentation, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students in an educational setting
- Provide assessments to create individualized intervention plans
- Collaborate with educators, families, and district specialists to promote student participation and achievement
- Manage documentation and compliance with state and federal educational guidelines
- Adjust and monitor therapy interventions as students’ needs evolve
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
