Qualifications & Background:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist license for New York
- Experience or strong interest in school-based settings preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and relevant documentation
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Organizational and time management abilities that support effective caseload management
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and areas of need related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-help, and participation in classroom activities
- Develop, document, and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to integrate therapeutic interventions within the classroom setting
- Provide both direct and consultative OT services, adjusting your approach to the unique needs of each student
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and revision of student goals
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation in accordance with district protocols
