Occupational Therapist School Setting - New Paltz, NY

This contract-based role offers the chance to provide expert Occupational Therapy services, with consideration for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) for currently available openings.
Work a consistent schedule from 8:00am – 3:00pm (with a 30-minute lunch) across a 32.5-hour week. You’ll typically manage 8–9 individualized sessions per day, supported by carefully crafted schedules created by administrators. This allows you to focus on quality care rather than logistics, ensuring students benefit from your skills. Morning and afternoon prep periods are dedicated to meetings, planning, and documentation, easing your workflow.
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), eligible for work in school-based settings
- Experience working with children, ideally those on the autism spectrum (ages 3–12)
- Proficiency in electronic documentation; comfortable with technology
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a passion for a collaborative, transdisciplinary model
- Understanding of sensory processing and its impact on learning and daily function
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver OT services in individualized or classroom-based sessions according to student needs and prescribed schedules
- Maintain timely and accurate session documentation using provided laptops and platforms
- Utilize well-equipped therapy spaces and equipment to support student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, PTs, and related staff, integrating therapeutic goals across the school experience
- Participate in orientation and behavior management training, enhancing your effectiveness in our setting
