Both Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) are encouraged to apply, with current openings available for COTAs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as an OT or COTA (as applicable)
- School-based experience preferred, but not required
- Commitment to working with autistic children in elementary grade levels
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable utilizing electronic documentation systems
Responsibilities:
- Provide approximately 8–9 individual therapy sessions per day, as scheduled by administration
- Deliver OT services to students 1–2 times weekly based on individualized needs
- Utilize provided equipment and therapeutic spaces, including treatment rooms and access to a large gym
- Enter session notes and maintain backup documentation electronically (laptop provided)
- Participate in team meetings and collaborative transdisciplinary planning
- Engage in preparation time for meetings, planning, and documentation, each morning and afternoon
- Deliver services in individual and, as appropriate, push-in classroom formats to foster generalization of skills
- Embrace a child-centered approach, informed by sensory processing principles
