You’ll work collaboratively with a supportive educational team, providing specialized therapy services while building meaningful connections with students.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure
- Prior experience or confidence working in school settings and with K-12 students
- Expertise in developing and implementing intervention plans that address fine and gross motor skills
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and other team members
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt strategies to meet individual student needs
- Knowledgeable about therapy documentation and compliance requirements in educational environments
Your Day-to-Day Duties:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students’ motor skill needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor therapy interventions, tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student progress discussions
- Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and families regarding strategies and progress
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school policies and legal guidelines
