An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated occupational therapy professional to contribute expertise in a supportive educational setting. This part-time contract role begins May 5, 2026, and concludes June 5, 2026, providing therapeutic services at both SELF school in Valparaiso and within the Portage area. The schedule entails working two weekdays between Monday and Friday, from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), totaling 14 hours per week.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Possession of active Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams, staff, and families
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel between designated school sites as needed
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services as part of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students across multiple campuses
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment goals, and document student progress
- Collaborate frequently with teachers, related service providers, and caregivers to integrate therapy into classroom routines
- Adapt sessions to meet varying student needs and foster student independence
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school and state requirements
