Desired Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification as a COTA.
- Valid state licensure for occupational therapy assistants.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational environment.
- Strong collaborative skills for working with occupational therapists, educators, and families.
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined by the supervising OTR.
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, and functional life skills applicable to their academic setting.
- Maintain thorough documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Assist in gathering and organizing caseload details specific to assigned students.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute valuable insight for student objectives.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to ensure integration of therapy strategies across classroom activities.
- Adjust therapy plans in response to student progress and teacher feedback.
