Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), licensed to practice in California.
- Previous school-based COTA experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy principles and interventions.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt therapy strategies to address diverse student needs.
- Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team in an educational setting is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Occupational Therapist in delivering effective therapy services to students.
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to enhance student participation in school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to coordinate care and share progress.
- Document student performance, maintaining accurate records in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Provide feedback for program development, and adapt techniques to fit classroom environments.
- Participate in meetings as needed to discuss student growth and recommendations.
